I just want to say that this site is just what I needed. I have been laying low for quite some time now. A year or so I bought another flatland bike. I never really rode it that much, but tinked around on it occasionally. I visited this site and got stoked out. My old riding partner and I have been getting together on the weekends and sessioning for a few hours. What is even better, a few kids have purchased some flatland bikes and have started riding with us as well. What a great feeling. I've truly missed it. Thanks for the motivation and a great place for ideas. Keep it coming!

Go Terry! You know, 4 months ago I was really skeptical about my ability to ride again. I thought I was too old, too weak, there was no one to ride with, etc. I decided to get a bike anyway, found a BMXFreestler and it really was a motivator. I pretty much ride by myself, but this offers me a forum to share my experiences. Welcome aboard, as Mark said.

I agree with icastel, alot of my friends have stopped riding either due to injuries or just life. I still love to flatland and have never lost the passion for riding, but I to began to wonder if I was getting to old. Since I found this site, it too has given me new motivation to ride, ride on

My fiancee's 6 year old son holds me accountable. We try to ride for 2 hours a day. He's getting an ARES STN 16 for his B-day now. Youth is an incredible motivator.

Hey Everyone! What a trip to think that I'm not the only older cat around that thought his riding days were behind him. I had recently re-established contact with one of my old riding buddies from back in the day(15 years or so) and he encouraged me to start riding again. Well, I live in Seattle now, so riding won't be all that easy because of the weather, but I did get another bike and started riding again for the first time in 8 years. I felt like such a newby! My balance was really skecthy, but I plan on at least being able to do G-turn to decade and multiple whiplashes again buy the start of summer. Thanks BMXFreestyler for the opportunity to share.

Just an FYI that I'm still riding. My step son and I are throwing down at least three times a week. My old riding partner is riding with us as well. Nor Cal Dreamin' BAY-BE! Woo Hoo!

Hey Everyone! I wanted to post an update on the flatland scene here in the Seattle area. Since my last post, I have re-learned a couple of tricks (steamroller to frontyard, and hang 5 to decade) and I just recently started trying to do halfpackers and backpackers. What was once a lone rider, my friend Mark, has now developed into three of us. We try to get together every weekend, but the weather here has been getting cold and ugly. However, I have scouted around and found a couple of parking garages that I think will work. Thanks again to Mark D aka RadDad! And Congrats Again!

That is Phenomenal!! That's the way to nurture a scene. Its starts with 1 and grows to 2. I think one of the key things for us here in Austin is we show up regularly with out a lot of planing. Mind you some times we do plan but for the most part everyone just showes up. I try not to ever miss a Saturday. There are times I don't feel like riding but I force my self out anyhow. We always have a good time. Good to hear about your progression. I would love to see your Hang 5 to Decade!! I thought about that link but was never able to put the two of them together.
Keep on Riding!!
Thanks again Ruedogg!!
