I'm back at it trying to re-learn my old tricks and then move on to some new ones! I haven't been on a freestyle bike since about 1990. but it feels good! I'm from Atlanta, but have been in Orlando for over 9 years now. i found the vintagebmx website, reconnected with a couple of old riding chums, and have re-kindled the desire to try it again. If any oldschool folks are anywhere near me and are interested in doing a saturday session sometime, let me know. I've only spent about about a total of 2 hours back on the bike, but the balance is slowly coming back! I have a goal to see how long it will take me to do a quad whiplash again!
Thanks, and I'm glad I found this site. It feels good to go back!

Jamie, Welcome aboard. It sure does feel good to be back I'm almost 34 now (sometime this month) and have been back at it since September '05 and the only thing that I found hard was the soreness that lasted for about a couple of months. I get achy now and then, but not as in the beginning.

Thanks Everyone. It's nice to be here, and yes, my whole body is sore, especially my shoulders. I've lost some skin on my shins too. It feels good!

Jwright, Welcome aboard!!, I'm located in Jacksonville, Fla and have two other fellow flatlanders here too!! We've been planning a trip to Orlando, so maybe we can ride while were down there.. The scene here Jax, is really starting to improve, mostly with riders in their late 30's. I just recently turned 35 last month, and plan to ride as long as my body will cooperate. I couldn't imagine life without riding!! Ride On...

Noposer- Nice to hear that there are a few riders near me! Yeah, let me know if you guys plan on heading to orlando and perhaps we can ride a bit. My company has a few projects in the Jax area, so if I'm ever going to be up there for work maybe we can meet up. Yep, it feels great to ride. I f I could make it, I'd drive up to Athens Ga. this weekend for the Final Exam Jam. An old team mate of mine who never STOPPED riding puts that on every year and I've heard it's insane. A lot of oldschool folks partake in the event along with the current shedders. My goal is to have my act together for next year's edition.

Jwright, pretty much the same here. I've been riding pretty much non-stop, just stopped competing in '99. I went to a comp in NC and a 15 y\o kid was busting out that time-machine on the pedal! I a decide to give up comps, but now I've decided what the he**, I too have decided to get my act together and get back out there... Hope we can ride soon, the bust part about this sport is riding with others... RIDE!!

Let me know if you guys go riding, im going go grab a bike. I used to ride in borlando from 86-89 and was competeing back then against a guy named Gerry Smith from tampa florida, anyway he rocked and i took 3rd. He was doing cross handed hang fives back in 1988 it was crazy. I was doing dumptrucks, quad whiplashes also, and all kinds of fun stuff, dude the stuff these guys do today is sick! Well im going on 36 and i know i can jump on a bike and still bust out at least 3 whiplashes at a good speed and mayby into a hang five. Well you guys keep me posted i wanna ride again..

Hey, [shadow=red,left,300]noposer[/shadow] my local bike shop (Lakeshore Bicycles and Fitness) told me about some flatland riders here in Jacksonville FL. They told me about one on them. They said that the flatlander was a firefighter and they also showed me an invention that was used for shoelaces that the flatlander invented. They gave me his number and told me to call him. Overall , i just wanted to know if you were this person or if you know this person. :)

FlatTrav, Yes, that's me.....I placed a couple of my " tongueties" at the Lakeshore Bike shop with Garth to see how well they would sell. Trying to put together a flat video for display to help sell them....Where are you located? I usually ride at the Albertson's in Arlington in the afternoon between 4-7.
