Flatland Fuel has the DK Signal You should pick one up. Its a great bike with all the right parts to get you on your way. I would highly recommend it for someone that is starting out and looking for a good bike that will not break the bank!
Keep on Riding!!

Hi! I am a beginner, too. And a girl just like you. I want to be a professional... So, for you, I think you need to start from a local type of bike. I started at my Dynobike. I started flying over the dirt obstacles. So, you better need it, too. My teacher says you must start at the Dirt and try some body- ups and bunny hops. Take care of your beautiful legs. I have no smooth and beautiful legs anymore. Take care. My e-mail add is del_artillaga@yahoo.com

Unlike MTB the fact you're a girl doesn't matter when it comes to deciding what bike to get. The top tubes are the same except for length; no severe drop in the top tube angle like a MTB... I always hated the idea of segregating a bike for genders. But yeah like that other chick said it's a good idea to get a feel for other types of riding too. I dig that idea coz for me it helped with confidence in riding and different balance points and... yeah. But yo, don't be scared to be a girl and ride. TRUST me you WILL get crap. It's a male dominated sport. Period. But the bottom line is you're in it for YOU and what you love doing (I'm assuming). It's gotta be a way of life to stay committed. And yes, go with flatlandfuel.com, man. They're customer service rocks and shipping's fast. Also, if you find you wanna stick with it, check out Global-flat.com. They have a bike configuration tool that allows you to setup yer bike custom so you can check the weight. Sweet! K, keep riding.

you can't bunny hop at all or not very high? do you live near a park that allows bmx? you could learn fakies and get comfortable with the hips and such. you could start on manuals now and learn to ride backwards and ride out.
