I knew eventually it would happen. After the past few days of being AMAZING and just down right fun. Today I am sooo tired I can barly move. I rode for about 1 hour today and could barly do a steamroller. I need to take tommarow off and rest up for the weekend. I am going to H Town for the Bday Jam. Should be a good time. I hope to get some rest tonight and get my balance back...hahaha Even though I am tired I did do a nice Hitchhiker!!

Today was a much better day. I hit a few different tricks and felt so much smoother. I am still working on some secret ninja moves and they are coming along well. OG on Saturday. I can't wait to see everyone and see some tricks.

Love hearing about your progression Mark. After returning to this sport/passtime/lifestyle/obsession (take yer pick) after nearly 20 years, I gotta say my progress has been WEEK... I've been back only since April but havent been out as often as I'd like. Lately though, I seem to be finding more time. I'm working on really simple stuff but its still kickin' my tail. Today I managed to get out for a bit just before dark. Got better at dork wheelies in a circle... would love to turn it into megaspins but can't figure it out yet. No progress on Steams...still hung up on the very first part. And hang 5s? Ouch! Still tryin' though. Why the heck did I ever stop!?!

A day ago I had a sleepless night, waited for the sun to come up and went riding at my spot. I was pretty sore and tired, but had a little bit of a breakthrough on pumping dork wheelies. Definitely felt some acceleration, and had more luck at keeping the front tire up in the pumping motion. Today I'm going to keep going with it; it needs a lot of work, but it's fun to practice. Ride hard fellas!

Gr8 session today. Met two new folks at our spot... together we were five. Made some progress on Hang fives. Sill can't roll em long but dealin' with the fear factor's goin' well. Bails are starting to look and feel slightly less ungraceful(read painful...lol).
...Excelsior!

No riding for me today. I have been taking off on Sundays for a day of rest. I did however ride very hard on Saturday. I fell pretty hard on a Messiah gone wrong. My knee is hurting a bit. Good thing I were knee pads or I would really be in a world of hurt.
Good to have you here posting up rebelgd! I give you a year and you will be spinning on your back wheel and rolling hang 5 to steams!!!
Keep on Riding!!

Riding has been going well lately. I've been riding morning and night and staying almost completely off the front wheel this week. Last night I finally landed this spin I've been working on. This morning I was just stepping into stick b's and trying to learn the scuff, and got a max of 4 smooth, balanced scuffs! I'm pretty stoked on that; I've never made it past 2 previously. ride on!

Missed the OG this weekend! Trying to figure out how to get more riding in my life right now. Part of the problem is that I am missing a spot. They tore down the tennis courts right down the block, and I still lack a car.
BUT, I am feeling more and more comfortable on my bike every Saturday. I wouldn't call it "progress" because I am just really re-learning tricks I had 20 years ago. Been hitting more and more elbow glides, and now I have hit a few forward side glides now too. Forgot about that one. Will Reed makes that trick look so sexy. I actually made a comment to him about it at the last Round Up(before I knew him, or anyone...really).
Still need to hit a Rope-A-Roni. That trick is elusive right now. Would like to hit a no-handed one, and a variation that I did where you drop the bike down and just coast it while holding the head tube with one hand, other hand off to the side.
I guess when I start feeling comfortable with my old tricks, I want to learn to roll double footed. That will be progress to me. I think that will open up so many new tricks for me. Hitchhikers, double foot steams, half-hikers.
Okay guys, hopefully I will see you guys soon!
If your not hurt/bleeding, your not trying hard enough! Ha, ha...I say that, because it seems like Mark, Jim and I are always hurting ourselves.

Sorry to hear about your spot Tod. major bummer. hopefully something else will turn up for you.
My riding has been all over the place lately. I'm having major problems staying dialed. One day the back wheel will feel great, the next day I can't pull a thing. Going back to front wheel tricks feel weird and sketchy because I've stopped practicing them. gaaaah. I'm still working on getting the nerve to stand up in the bar ride. stepping up is less scary, but the next step is the main deal. anyways, keep riding! cheers ya'll

Got to ride my new project bike for the first time tuesday. Its startin to come together. Here's a short little vid. Keep in mind I'm still a beginner. lol www.silverstudioonline.com/vids/092209.wmvBut boy the new bike feels SOOOOO much better. I can see a lot of progression in the near future hopefully. Unfortunately on its maiden voyage I managed to severly sprain my ankle.. So I've been couch bound since tuesday. So far here's the breakdown of it: '07 Quamen Delta 3 Frame with brake mounts Odyssey Pro Flat 0 offset forks 1.95" Primo Comet 110psi tires Primo Seat Clamp cheapie 14mm axle front and rear wheel. Here but not on yet: KHE Phil Dolan bars On the way: 155mm Black Widow Cranks and Spindle and gyro parts Still hunting down: Seatpost, seat, euro bb, sprocket, and rear wheelset with 9t freecoaster Thinkin about checkin out the Texas Flatland Round Up.. Maybe if I can progress enough between now and then I'll bring the bike to ride and support the scene in the beginners class!

You have to come out and hold it down for Kansas!!! Beginner Class I think this time will be a true beginner class unlink all the other past years. With the 30 and over class there will be many people riding in that class rather than the beginner class. Bring it on....
Keep on Riding!!

Today at the O.G. It was a Phenomenal Time. We had many of the O.G. regulars show up to bust out some fresh moves. John Yull was busting Decades like they were nothing. Working on Doubles. He just about pulled it but as soon as the camera came out the magic was hard to find again. Jim was rolling some monster jugglers and putting in his time on the back wheel. His session ended with a BANG..Literally as his front tire exploded. Adam pulled a ridiculously hard link that had the whole garage clapping and cheering. Tod was getting back into the grove and rolling extremely fast with his whiplashes and steams. I even spotted him doing sneaker screamers! David LaRocca showed up and was hitting up some pinky squeeks like butter! EZ Chris was doing his links very EZ and with so much style. He makes it looks too easy that you want to try it and then you know how hard he is really riding and its NOT EZ at all!!! Joya showed up too and was working on the funky chicken and Julia is so close to a ride out I can taste it. She hit it once but I was not around at the time. I can't wait to see it. Todd pushed me to work on my Hitchhiker. I rarely pull one during my riding session and this session I think I hit 6 total. Maybe 1 more but I am pretty sure I ended the session with 6 under my belt. Over all it was a Amazing time a the O.G. If your ever close by on a Saturday you should swing by and hang out for a couple of hours.
Keep on Riding!!!
