I guess I'd have to say 1987-the year I got my first real bike-87 Haro FSX. I only had one riding buddy, and his first real bike was an '87 Mongoose Decade Pro. We both still have our first frames. Steve

I started to ride about 1986 pretty much right after the movie rad. My first bike was a Mongoose FS1. I wanted a Magician but I couldnt find a bike company that sold them.

I remember renting "Rad" about 15 times, mostly only watching the beginning and ending credits.

I usually peg it at 1987, when I got my sorely-missed Master and became aware of freestyle as an actual entity... but, thinking back, I was jumping for air and style for at least a year before that on an "Open Road" BMX bike from Mongomery Ward's. Thinking back, that bike was badass for a dept. store bike... Ukai rims, suzue hubs... I was getting more air off the local big jump than some of the guys that were two, three years older than me.
But I'll stick with 1987, because I was actually aware at that point.

This is when I started going buck-wild jumping and whatnot. 1980 (8yrs old) on a Huffy Pro Thunder 4. One footed power wheelie with the Buster Browns in full effect. Bike lock slung over the shoulder like a bandolier.

I started riding back in 1984, and rode for about 10 years solid, and then stopped. Just got back into it about a year ago. ;D

I have been jumping and riding wheelies and crap for as long as I can remember. I remember my old paperboy getting a brand new first gen Haro Freestyler with green mags. I would follow him everywhere when he was on our street delivering. I remember he got rifd of it and bought a Haro Master when those came out. I wanted one so bad but could not afford one, so my dad bought me a General, the lime green ones that looked like the Haro Masters, LOL Eventually I was able to get my own paper route and buy my own bikes...Those were the days ;D

Riding since 1974, became obsessed with wheelies and skids around 77 & probably started really "riding" around 83.
