I want to learn some flat land tricks. I'm trying to do a single peg manual. I'm talking about back peg right foot right peg. My left foot ends up too far on right side causing me to set it down.
Tips on hang5 thats something I want to work on. Its tough getting the back tire it seems too forceful. Any advice would be appreciated. Btw I'm 41 an old dog seeking new tricks.

Hey Harlen welcome to the forum. I can help you out with both of those tricks. I will start of with tips for the Peg Wheelie.
You don't need your brakes for this trick. One trick that I teach people to do is to use the seat as a balance point. YOu can put the seat close to your knee. Its not neccesary to do that but I can help you learn the balance point. A easy way to pratice this is to start on the ground and push off and when you feel like your falling backwards just step down and push off again. I know its ackward but it does work. Working in a parking lot works best so you have lines that you can see your daily progress. Start of at trying to get one space with out touch. When you hit one...try for just 1 more. Keep pushing your self as far as you can go with out touching.
If you are pulling back to hard. I call that looping out. That means your going past the balance point. If you are front wheel is hitting the ground it means your leaning to far fwd. Most likely you will loop out more than leaning fwd. When I get some time I will try and shoot a video of a Peg Wheelie for you and try and give you some pointers.
Hang -5 I will get to that one after while. Its way more complicated but very do able.

Ooo yeah I am 42 pushing 43 and still learning every day!

Peg wheelies seems like the basis for alot of flat tricks along with hang5. I guess I'll work on it until I get it dialed and hang5 later.I just started the peg wheelie last week as of today its getting better. It seems like the straighter my body is the easier it is. This pic was taken last week when I had to counter too far right. I've been taken my bike to work lately. So when I get down time or the owner is gone I'll start riding it. ;D Anyway I'm going for a ride and thanks for the tips.

I can tell from your photo that the seat trick will not work for your set up. But you don't need it to stay balanced. You looked like your in the correct position. Maybe tommarow I will have time to do some peg wheelies on film. I did some today on film but no time to get it off the tape. I will try when I am doing my next Todays riding video. Your right though learning those 2 tricks will open up many doors for you. I think its easier to learn it backwards. I could do it backwards long before I could do it FWD. But rolling fwd is totally different from rolling backwards. I will see what I can do. Tommorrow.

How do I go backwards I'm not running brakes?
Today I was working on a fork glide. I get around and always fall on opposite peg side. Any tips and possibly a few more tricks I can work on any help is appreciated. I havent taken on any new challenges in a long time and this is a good one for me, because I already love riding bmx's. I figured this bike has a decent geometry for flatland cs 13 3/8 ht 74.5 tt 20.5 and 48mm stem. I know a steeper fork would make a big difference. Mark thanks for the responses.

Here is the analogy I like to use. As told by Ruben Castillo. Picture your self in the middle of a tornado with all kinds of things happening all around you. But in the center of the storm things are calm. The calm “Sweet Spot” that you hear so much about is right over your steam. Focus your weight right over that spot and you will find the point of balance. What you’re doing is very common when learning how to get around. One other thing you can do is work on rolling backwards in that position by just stepping up and pushing back.
You can roll backwards in a backwards wheelie by doing a foot jam endo and quickly switch your feet. Do the endo from your rear pegs. Joe has offered to help film. When we both have some time I will work on doing these tricks for you so you can see what I am talking about. Some times it’s hard to explain in Text.
Other tricks you can work on are like Tail whips, squeakers and ride outs. I can go over in great details for any of those tricks. Any trick I can do I can explain how to do it.

I tried a ride out for the first time today and its not as easy as it looks. I really didnt spend alot of time with it. I will work a little harder on it sunday. My tail whips are very frustrating I can get around to about 3/4 almost consistently. My free foot is retarded way too close to the wheel almost right beside my jam foot. When I do get it all the way or past 3/4 my free foot doent know what to do. If anyone understands what I'm saying help me, so I can tell my free foot what to do.
My peg wheelies are getting way better. If I get a hold of one I can go about 1/2 a block, but I try another one and its 5 or 10 ft. I got some good ones today two of them I was able to make a 90 degree turns. One was turning into the store and the other was turning in my driveway. ;D

Thanks Jim, I'm ready to try a mega spin. ;D Not trying continuous spins, but maybe 360 or 540. How do I know when to scuff? I tried it a few times. It seems like when I'm at 180 or less the front slowly drops. Is that scuff time or before that. Fork glides are pretty tough for me. I can make the spin, but I caint keep my balance on the peg. My back wheel starts rising or I end up with too much weight on peg causing the tire to knock some hide off my leg.

I got the peg wheelie dialed pretty good. I learned to raise the front end up using my body, instead of jerking it up with my arms. I can make a 90's and a large circle. The circle I've been trying to tighten up to a mega spin ;D. I get 180 and loop out at one point I got 540 it and got a little distorted. It happened too fast. Oh yeah I also learned to ride them low to the ground or with the cross bar at my chest. My nephews are coming down over the holiday I'll try to get them to shot a vid. Btw thanks for asking Mark.
What are some other tricks that I can work on using the peg wheelie?

From Peg Wheelie you can go to Stick B or Death Truck or even a Decade. I am not very talented on the Back wheel. Ooo I do know one that you can work on. You can let go with one hand and after you get comfy with one hand you can spin your bars half way. It becomes a rolling lawnmower. The balance is very strange. Its basiclly the trick of the month with out the spining part.
