Heh. I'll have to read the whole thread to get up to speed, but I thought I'd introduce my lurker/noob self to a new batch. I'm Jon Lavigne, a.k.a. "Thlayli". I've kept that handle for sentimental reasons, but the story behind it is a little odd. One time, about six years ago (give or take) I created a character for an e-wrestling federation I was involved in. E-wrestling a creative writing/role playing type of game, if you're not familiar with it. I'm not embarassed to say I'm a wrestling smark. Look that term up. Anyway, I called the character "The Pink Bunny" and, basically, he was a dirty redneck dude (except smarter) whose wrestling attire was a dirty fuzzy pink bunny suit. I ended up leaving that particular fed because it was really, really horrible, but, later on in another fed where I was really active, I resurrected the character as a manager/wrestler without the bunny suit and gave him a "real" name, Ralph Thlayli. "Thlayli", by the way, is a word I got from a book called Watership Down by Richard Adams. It's the lapine (rabbit language) name for one of the main characters in the book, Bigwig. It literally means "Fur-Head". I got a little known in certain circles by the name, so I just kinda kept on using it. At this moment in time I actually own two domain names with it. It's appropriate, since I'm pretty much an anachronistic hair farmer anyway. I've been involved/enthused about BMX since 1987. I've been riding flatland for about two and a half years, since I started riding again after a major injury forced me to take a hiatus from street and dirt in '98. I'm sitting at the tail end of 32 years old (33 in Sept.) and I live in Rough And Ready, CA, though I'll most likely be moving to someplace in Grass Valley sometime next month. I used to live in Raleigh, NC, but I left there because I had to escape the bible belt before they strung me up for being a heretic. Riding is second to playing music to me... third if you count playing bass and playing guitar as two different things. fourth if you count singing as one. Fifth if you count songwriting. I actually own a new pair of Vision Street Wear suede hi-tops. They're pretty crappy shoes, but they have some nostalgia value.

Jowee Thompson, 24, from New Orleans. I've met some of you's guys in person, and a few more on other boards.
I first witnessed flatland in early 1997. A good friend of mine had just moved into the same apartment complex from some guy who rode flatland. The guy riding actually went to school with me, and we're still friends to this day; his name is Mickey Gaidos.
So, me and my buddy both got bikes in the course of that year. I never did ride all that often though; just on the weekends, and I never really pushed myself. It wasn't until 2003 that I really dedicated myself to flatland.
I might have seen flatland for the first time in 1997, but I never really new what flatland was until 2003. That's the best way I can explain it.

Hi yall, my name is David Weathersby. I've been riding flatland since 12/97, and I've had a lot of great experiences at contests and events. I saw flatland on tv but couldn't grasp the idea until I saw Chris Balles riding. I was amazed, and was immediately involved with flatland. I got mags, vids, and met with Austin locals like EZ and Ruben. My interest in flatland has increased and decreased over the years. but since I've repaired from an ankle injury last year I've been training and practicing much more. I like to make it to all the contests close to me and represent my boys in ATX. David W.

Hello, obviouse new memeber to the site. i'm looking for leads to help restore my Kuwahara Bravo KT. I located teh bike my parents spent a small fortune on and repurchased it tonight on my birthday. Most of the parts are still there except the seat, back foot platforms, and some brake parts. Anyone know a knowledgable Kuwahara collector?
Thanks
