Hey Gil I use Pinnical (sp) stoftware to transfer video from my camcorder to my pc. The progam came with a specail cable. It was about 80 bucks all together. There are several good programs out there tough. Go to best buy and look around there. THey have all the fun goodies for transfering stuff to PC. Sale reps there are generally very helpfull so when you have questions they are pretty good about helping out.
Keep on Riding!!
