Whoaa I got the first Entry!! I am learning a new switch. I have compleated it a few times now and I am getting better at it. I am able to switch from Halfhiker to Karl now. That was a hard switch for me to learn. When I tried it a long time ago I got hurt pretty bad and I didn't try it again.......until recently. After landing a cliffhanger I have renewed confidence in my riding. I feel I have so much more balance than I have ever had. So I am stepping up to the plate and really pushing my self in differend directions. Josh D said to me he was wanting to try different things and that motivated me to keep trying something new. I am not really stepping way out of my comfort zone but just working on doing things that I know how to do and linking them together some how. I should be working on Karl to Cliffhanger..thats going to take some time and courage for sure. I hope that this message board picks up eventually. Pedal BMX died and is making a come back while BMX Freestyler stays a even 2 or 3 post during the week. Anyhow it is what it is.
Keep on Riding!

Hey, I just got back into freestyle after a 20 year break. I picked up a 1987 GT Pro Freestyle Tour. I had the same one in high school so had to go old school. I bought Matt Wilhelm's "Ground Rules" DVD also. It is a sweet video with great instruction. I saw some of your videos and am impressed. I'm trying to get through all 56 tricks from the video by the end of summer. Working on the tailwhip and backward slider this week. I don't remember balance being this difficult back in the day. One more thing....is using an older bike going to make learning harder? Keep riding.

Today I finally learned how to step from switch-hand steam to crackpacker and I can get it almost every time. Now I just need to get out of them. ;D

I haven't been riding too much these past couple weeks due to house projects etc. Found out that the pain in my foot is arthritis (!) Last night I got out and had a pretty good session. Nothing really new, but things were feeling solid. Karl to hang 10's are working for me, switch steam pumping is feeling stronger. Crackpackers are getting better, still no luck on the rideout. I tried karl to cliffhanger several times, but didn't clear the tire. I'll be trying real hard to put the tricks I can already do into one tight link for Voodoo. ride on

Yeah larger bikes do make it harder but it can all still be done. You will find it easier on a smaller lighter bike. I started riding a street styled bike just because I didn't know what exsited. I am glad you got ground rules. Matt will be happy to know that your learning from him. Fee free to post your progression...Its all about having fun and moving forward. Keep on Riding!

Well, my first day back at riding went okay I suppose. I tried a few easy tricks...kind of struggled with them, but Mark definately gives me motivation to keep trying. I just got back from the doctor today...and he told me that I shouldn't be doing any "trick riding" for a year?! Are you serious? That's not going to happen...but I will take Mark's advice and take things slow so that I don't re-injure myself. When I started flat riding again, I really started to get the itch to PROGRESS, but I don't know how soon that will happen.
But in Mark's words..."Keep on riding." I am going to try to go to the OG more regularly now. See you guys soon.

Ooo wow Tod...yeah just take it nice and easy. Most doctors don't know what it is we do anyhow. My doctor though I was flipping over gaps with ramps. If you showed him a small clip that might make a differenec in his opinion. My doctor never really understood what I ment by tricks but he was like you know your body best, don't push your self so hard that you injure your self again. I kept those words in mind and I don't do things that feel wrong. I have been working hard on the Trick of the Month and I am making progress with it. www.vimeo.com/5434183Keep on Riding!

Last night was too hot. I managed to get a juggler to hang 10 once, so I'm pretty stoked on that. Today I'm going to do some pedaling and maybe squeeze in another session. cold air, where you at? heh

Huck is supposed to be by today. I have not heard from this thus far but that was the plan last week. We may roll to the O.G. this afternoon and bust out some tricks.

No Huck today so I stayed on the Home Front. Worked on 1 link over and over again and again. I got it a few times. I was pleased. Karl>Steam>Karl>Turbine>Ride Out. I am so sketchy with my tricks I really need to do a few each session to get better at riding live. I did my filming for the Global-Flat Online Battles. I got my 45 seconds in. I was happy with it except I need to add more hard tricks to my bag. I have a ton of easy tricks and single tricks and not that many linked tricks. The Bag is getting deeper and i am eager to see what the next few weeks brings. My Mc Circle is getting tight!!! I always used to use my back brake to spin around I hand stopped doing it that way, but tonight I started again and my rotation is there!! I have never been good about rotating with out my back brake. I think in the next week I will pick up 2 full rotations!!! I will be forced to ride out of town for a few days. Keep holding down the message board. Show your support for the site by making a post.
Keep on Riding!!
