Had a pretty good session last night for about 2 hours. I've been working on Halflashes, Backwards Rope-A-Roni's & Forward and Backwards Karl Kruisers. These will be HUGE once I can pull all these off. So far I can just about pull off Halflashes which is cool because I'd love to some day pull off Forward Rope-A Roni's and get into Lardyards this way. Next is Backwards Rope's, I get into them by doing Flail Boomeranges to the rear peg and then pull up. So far I haven't pulled one off yet I keep putting my foot down getting into them. I can roll them in a complete circle though.
Karl Kruisers have been my weakest, but I will NOT give up on them. My goal is to have all these tricks dialed before the fist of the year....I just hope the snow can hold off till then.

High 5 VS for starting the new thread! very cool, man ;D
Karl's are tough, hang in there and they're bound to get better. I use that trick all the time and still struggle with it sometimes lol. My back wheel has been messed up for a while now, I finally got some dry Teflon lube spray and just sprayed the crap out the bearings. much better now! haha riding has been spotty lately, lots of sickness, injury, and funk going on. got to ride this morning tho and started hitting triple peg turbines fairly consistantly. I'm pretty stoked-they're still sketchy, but they're coming along.

I just got back into riding a few weeks ago and I'm loving it! I've started mostly with old school tricks, because that's where I left off many years ago. Yesterday I pulled a fire hydrant to smoothie to cyclone! I was super stoked (do people even say stoked anymore?). Tonight I worked on rolling backwards hang 5s to work on finding my balance point to do them forwards. I'm riding my old 1999 GT Pro Performer and it's super heavy and long. I'm thinking about ordering an OG Balance 3 in the next few weeks. I think that may help a bit. It's really fun to be able to keep up with other guys my age who are riding too.

Welcome back, Just wanted to say that I am basically in the same boat...along with Vertical Smile up there...both returning to riding after some years away. I got back into it about January of this year...been slowly getting some old tricks back...because of injuries this year. Good to have you back. Get that OG Balance 3...good bike to get back into the game with. You will be amazed at how much better these new bikes ride.

The OG Balance is a GREAT bike, I love mine. I just upgraded the Cranks and Seat & Seatpost(I didn't like the plastic hard one)., and the original seat post bent after learning Hang 5's. lol! Here's a video I made of my progression so far of tricks I have dialed. I've been working hard on a whole bunch of new stuff and plan on making another video soon. Snow should be on the ground soon here in Boston Ma so time is very limited...I already can't wait for the spring. Click on this link. Just getting back into Flatland, Week 4

My ultimate link(at this point) would be half-lash to forward rope, to forward death truck. I always loved that combo. Would like to re-learn fire-hydrant to karl. Need to learn forward karl's, as I never did before. Still trying to hit the elusive rope-a-roni...something I first pulled 20 years ago in a demo! Didn't have back brakes at the time, so when I pulled it...I was really freaked out...just wanted to stop doing the demo, right then and there. Ha!

Are those the Oddesey cranks they have on flatland fuel? I think I saw your ride on bmx museum and they look sweet! What sproket are you using with them?

Didn't hit up the OG as I had planned. My day at work was just too long. I stayed at home and rode in front of the Casa. It was a quick session but it helpped me relax a bit. I did try to grab my seat in a hang 10 a few times. Its easier to let go and lean forward than to hold on and lean back. Uggg... Can't wait for Saturday Session with the Crew!!
Keep on Riding!

Had a short but good ride this morning. I did 5 really long frontyards. My scuffing is starting to smooth out and feel good again. Fire hydrants are starting to feel natural again. Life is good.

November is already feeling like a fresh start. Things have gotten much better very quickly. I totally forgot until just now, but last night I managed to LAND a no-kick fire hydrant to forwards hitch hiker! I've been trying that trick for probably 2 years, on and off and finally got one. always close, but never landed it. very stoked on that. On Friday I landed the no-footed Donkey Glide. That one I've only pulled one other time, a couple years ago. Lots of new stuff in the works, I can't wait to get in a proper(all day) Saturday session next week! Gonna charge up the ipod, fill up the water bottle, and ride some more this afternoon, hopefully film something if the rain holds out.
keep riding!

So cool to read about all the progression from all you guys, great idea to start these threads Rad Dad! Today was also a good day for me and I put in about three hours of riding. I still can't quite get into my Rope-a Roni's, my d**n foot always taps the ground! But I did roll a few in tight complete 540's...very happy about that. Backwards Karl's are getting better and I can coast them pretty far.
Can't wait to make a new vid!

Satruday Session was very cool. I was the first one there at 1pm but I left around 9 pm I was worn out from all the riding. I pulled way to many hitchhikers to even think that its that hard for me anymore but it still doesnt happen every time so I have to keep building my self up to get it everytime. I got to see Adam pulling a new trick. Got that on film I will post it here.
Sunday---too much rain to go riding..that sucks I was really hoping to get some more in. I will have to wait till Monday!
Keep on Riding!
