had a blast today, I was encouraged a bit by the help I got and the vibe at the OG, I'm not to happy with how I set up my bike, so next time you see me I'll have new parts (bars/stem) and I'll probably be riding more instead of just sitting there bummed on my setup. edit: if anyone's interested, you can see my car at blog.cardomain.com/2009/11/05/vibe-audio-rx-8-screams-for-attention/if anybody ever needs any kind of custom and/or stereo work done feel free to hit me up, my best friend's own a shop that does everything, I have hookups for body-shops and painters etc too. (tired of your frame color? hehe) til next time, Randall Randall, yeah man...it was good having you out at the garage! The guys/gals at the OG don't vibe anyone, everyone there is just there to have a good time. And they will all help anyway they can. If you have questions about tricks...hit anyone up there, and they are down. I hope to see you out there more!

I'm thinking about heading up there, I'll be in town, don't really want to fight the shopping crazies this weekend either so getting some riding in would prob be a safe alternative lol

Thought I post a riding report in here, even though I live on the other side of the world. I went to one of the old places where my mates and I used to ride, did a few tailwhips, frontyards, infinity rolls and coaster wheelies. Also pulled off a flail boomerang but landing on the rear peg instead of the pedal. I was trying the old steamroller to funky chicken combo and got it a couple times but that's gonna need more work. I tried whiplashes for a while but only got my right foot on the peg a couple times, I'm determined to get whiplashes back though. I'm not sure how the Haro Master's gonna hold up so I've been talking to Patrick at Flatland fuel, he's recommended the Hoffman Strowler seeing as it's a longer frame that us older guys are used to but I'm not sure of the Master's dimensions, so if anyone that used to ride a Master can tell me what they ride now and how it compares to the Master please let me know. Keith

I've heard a lot of good things about the Strowler, Pat's pretty awesome and a ton of help too. Thanks for the report man, I've been riding brakeless a few times this week, feels pretty much the same but I'll be re-doing everything Monday when my new bars/stem arrive, probably going to run dual bottom cables for the gyro, hopefully I can get it locally, I could probably leave the brakes off or whatever, but there are some older tricks I miss, and I do ride my bike around in traffic etc from time to time I'll probably hit up the OG tomorrow, not sure who else will be there but I'm jonesing to ride/practice some more.

Yea Pat seems very helpful, he said he used to ride Masters himself. He said I could probably get a Prowler built (they come as frames only) for around $700US but my attempt at picking the parts to make a custom bike ran up to $950US without cranks, pedals or bottom bracket. I went for another ride today but I just felt really flat (no pun intended) and low on energy so after about 25 minutes I gave up and headed home. Maybe it's a case of too much too soon. I'm a bit like you canaryrx8, I've gotta have rear brakes or the bike just wouldn't feel right. BTW, I'm guessing by your username you have a yellow Mazda RX-8? I have a red series 5 Turbo RX-7 myself. Keith

oh dang, an S5? nice! yeah I have a bright ass yellow 8 that wound up as a show car and everything, always dug Rx-7s and rotaries and 6 years ago I was in a good place and wound up with the 8, I've had issues with it but it's still a fun car, we just got done taking it to Vegas a few weeks ago for the SEMA show, you can see it in the link I put a few posts back. I felt flat yesterday too, I rode around a little just in my driveway, but was just blah. I did fix my headset yesterday and I've figured out how I'm going to finish out my brakes so I guess that's a progress of sorts, I'm definitely doing some riding today OG or otherwise as I think we're fixing to get some yucky weather here so today would be a good day to get out and do something. My friend collects Haros by the way, they re-released a couple with new school parts that were signed by Bob Haro etc etc and he has several of them, shame he never rides though.

Best day so far getting back into riding! After working on them the last few weeks I have Steamrollers into Funky Chickens dialed and the biggest news of all is I FINALLY pulled off my first Rope-A-Roni!!!!! I pulled right into it rolled a complete circle and road out! I gotta get the Video camera out next time! I'm so pumped and I'll be back at it tomorrow.

I was out there for about an hour today, definitely feeling more comfy with the forkglides, got all my parts and tools today to fix everything up this coming week, it's supposed to get cold this week but whatever, as long as it's dry I'm going to be ridin', maybe next weekend I can make it 3 times in a row at the OG lol

I'll have to find the link to the RX-8 and have a squiz. The RX-7 put out 235 horse power at a dyno day I went to earlier in the year. It's still relatively standard engine wise but runs an E8 Haltech computer. I've been into rotaries for years. Anyway, back onto BMX. No riding today for me, it's been a bit windy which always puts me off, so I went for a drive to see if I could find any good riding spots. I've been trying to get this Hoffman Prowler at Flatlandfuel sorted out, looking at various parts and so on but I think it's gonna end up costing as much as a pro bike anyway. So, after looking at the complete bikes again, I'm liking the look of the 2010 DK Opsus in white 19" top tube would probably work well for me I think and I'd upgrade parts as I can afford to, starting with the wheels. The Opsis is pretty dope, I almost went that route but my inertia was dirt cheap and shorter so that's what I wound up with. It's raining today....sigh

Keith Keith, go with a DK Opsis for now...although I ride a Strowler and can say it's a pretty good frame. When I got back into flat after about 20 years away, I started on an Opsis. When the Strowler frame went on sale at FF, is when I snagged it. I still run many of the parts from my Opsis on it though. Wheels are still going strong, and the freecoaster still works pretty good, even though it's a cheapy.

Yea that's what I was thinking of doing, but I'll probably get the Sun Big City Lite wheels (in black cos the chrome rims tend to be a bit grabby with the brakes) instead of the standard wheels which also means having to get a smaller sprocket so I'll get the London Brixton 24T. I don't mind paying the extra $135 for them. Did everything on the Opsis swap over to the Strowler frame Ok? I think "dope" means good, yea? Keith

I am BAAACK!!! WHoaa its been a long time. Lots going on around here and I have not been on my bike in what seems like a life time. I got out side today for about 45 min. I was thinking about what CHadwick was telling me to try and I did it today. I stepped over my top tube from Karl into Hang 5 seat grab with my right hand. I only touched pegs once then fell out but It was the closest I have come to doing it. Once I saw I was not going to get tangeld up in the bike I was cool. That was my biggest worry. Today for some reason my Meshia felt soooo GOOD. It was wiered because most of the time when I have not rode for awhile I am sketchy on that trick starting out but today everything was just fine. I even was rollling my cliffhanger smoothly today. I am stoked. I can't wait to Celebrate by Birthday with my friends. 42 and still rolling and learning!!
Keep on Riding!
