Hey guys, thanks to everyone for having me out yesterday. I loved it! I am sore today! Not my legs, but my arms and back. I think I used some muscles that I haven't in a long time. I did ride(although sore) today, because I was still pumped from yesterday! At this point, anything I do is progress. Mark, I landed the rope-a-roni today...which is something I was trying to get yesterday. I pulled a few whiplashes brakeless today...and worked on NOT using my brakes for hang-fives and half-lashes. My goal since starting again has been to pull old tricks each time I go out...which I have been doing, so that is much motivation for me. Scuffing is still a bit foreign to me. I think this week I am going to pull my back brakes off...they just get in my way really. And this week I will try to ride some and keep my grubby fingers off the front brake while doing rolling tricks. I have to force myself to find the sweet spots! Mark, I know I told you that I rode street some this whole time while away from flat. Did I tell you that I pulled my first handrail when I was 34! I was super stoked on that one. I am putting the street machine away for a bit though...I am really digging the flat. Thanks again. Hope to see everyone this Sat.

Hand Rails!! Whoaa..I have always wanted to know how to grind but never could get up the nerve. Rope was and is still a dream trick. I am not comfy in that position as of yet. Some day. I keep working hard on that Crackpacker. The days away from home make it hard to keep a steady progression and keep up with weekly videos. They are becoming when ever I have time and weather permits. I probably will be out very late on Saturday. I have a wedding to attend in the afternoon. I probably will be done about 6 I hope and be on the way to the OG. I need to post a photo of the riding spot I was in the past 2 days. It was truly Amazing. I rode for the past 2 days in Uvalde, TX at this B-Ball Court. It was silky smooth and was GRIPPY! I never slid out once. It was so nice. I wish I had this spot here at home. bmxfreestyler.myphotoalbum.com/view_photo.php?set_albumName=album11&id=1231290595905_G

Mark, Jim...you guys should check out Krt Scmidt.com and check out the old footage of Jay Jones and Ross Smith...both amazing riders from the early 90's, late 80's. The site also has a ton of cool old footage, from all different riders.
Mark, there is an amazing tennis court(actually several of them side to side) near my house that I ride at. Has lights and the surface is smooth and grippy. Right in front of my house is a half-basket ball court that some folks(that spin a lot) could ride at...I just go over there to goof off some.
Also, handrails are not that hard...it's just a mental block. Took me years to get past that mental block. Obviously, you have to have double peg grinds down pretty good. I wrecked myself a lot...which is kinda why I made a return to flat. Less beating yourself up.
Ropes, or forward ropes is a dream trick for me. Actually, half-lash to forward rope to step over into a death truck. That should be my goal this year.
Haven't put much time in on the bike...weather sucks. Hopefully Saturday will be nice.

Jim!!!! dude I think I saw a video of you on globalflat that had you turbining halfhikers. was really stoked to see that. was off the chain. It had a comment about annoying bystanders or something. I need to watch it on a computer with audio next time;)
Still havent rode out of a hitchhiker yet. but I did get finally get hang nothings down before the end of 2008. few days ago I switched between hang 5 and hang nothing a couple of time.
dump trucks are ever so slowly getting better. been trying to flip the bars in a lard yard. still lose all momentum when turbining a hang 5. a think a good scuff on the tire when i turn around is in order. still working like crazy on megaspins.

For today's riding I got to shoot some film for Trick of the Month. I got my hang 5 in. Turbin and Cross handed. I will try another one latter on in the month and try and do them both at the same time. That's what I really want. Crackpackers are in the same spot. I need to make a update there too. very cool at the OG last night. literally! ;D it was awesome seeing everyone out there tearing it up in the freezing wind. Todd, those ankle-death whips are SICK man! My goal for 2009 was to pull jugglers-last night I got some! I'm very stoked, now I need to master those hang 5's!

Cool is the world definitely!! It was a good time for sure though. I always enjoy hanging out with everyone. I will be out of town for awhile. Headed to Corpus so my updates will slow down again but I will keep riding where ever I may be. Today in front of my house I got into and out of a Half hiker. It felt stellar but I didn't settle for one. I did 2 of them completely. I did a partial 3rd one but I didn't get out of the steam roller part.
Keep on Riding!

Jim, good to see you nail a few jugglers...did Mark get get it on film? And Jim, you have been putting off hang-fives for too long. Should come easy for you...you have skills!
Last time at the OG my body was sore...this time my shins are wrecked...but I got my wife's soccer shin guards, so I should be golden. Now I don't have a bike...or I should say that I took some of it apart, waiting on my new bars. I got some Enertia bars that were cheap, but they look pretty good. Just waiting on them now. I got some new bars with the hopes of getting something with a lower crossbar, which leads me to this...
Last time at the OG I was trying a hang five to front yard...and couldn't get my foot over the bars. After my last knee surgury, I can not fully put my foot up underneath my thigh. Lost some of my flexibility. The other one I wanted to do was the ankle death whiplash thingie...but A variation I used to do were I throw the free foot over the bars. I guess you would call it a candybar whiplash. I need the lower cross bar for these tricks, and also candybar hang nothings, barhop hang fives...stuff I used to be able to do.
So far, everytime I have gone out(which isn't enough) I have pulled an old trick or two. I just need to get them dialed. I was actually thinking that if I could atleast get some of my old tricks down, that I would enter the Texas Roundup this year...which is kinda why I got back into flat. Seeing you guys ride at the roundup last year got me hyped to ride flat. That, and I have never entered a contest. I guess that would be a goal of mine...just to say I have rode in a contest. Never felt the need before.
Jim, Mark...thanks for keeping this fun for me. Everytime I see you guys ride and we get to hang out some, I get stoked.

I bring great new from Corpus... I pulled hitchhiker number 3! It was like a hugh sigh of relief. I was really starting to wonder when I was going to do another one. This one left like I was in control. Once I was in steam I was just to happy that I was not out of control. Next step do it again
Yep I got jims juggler on film. I will get to it by Sunday I hope. Too much traveling this week. I a just gratful that I can take m bike to ride.
Keep on riding
