I always called it a spastic front yard. I haven't tried it since I started riding again though as yet, I get dizzy enough doing infinity rolls. I've got the Opsis now and it's gonna take a bit of getting used to, I think I need a longer seat post. Keith

Just got in from riding. Its so nice right now. Its 46 and feeling nice. Not to cold and hood weather 4 sure. I raised my seat up and WOW I forgot how high it was before. It made some things much easier almost like childs play. Because its so high I dont have to reach to grab. I am very excited about riding in the next round of Global Flat online battles. It should be a TON of fun.
Anyone got big plans for the new years?

man that vid adam posted is dope, I haven't ridden since last week now, going to try and get out this evening and at least ride around in circles or something lol I changed up my sprocket last week from a 23 to a 26, used an animal "sprocky balboa", now my chainline is almost perfect and I'm not rubbing my dropout anymore, I'm diggin' the new sprocket, they use a system which puts the 19mm adapter flush inside so I was able to "slam" it all the way in towards the bottom bracket, my arms clear no problem and the bike is much smoother pedaling now.

Anyone got big plans for the new years? no plans here, same as every year....sigh lol edit: Maybe I'll make this year different, anyone up for riding at the OG (or wherever) on New Year's? This has been a pretty bad year for me, definitely want to do something fun to kiss its ass goodbye.

Finally getting to do some riding after all the snow here in Richmond,VA. I'm starting to get used to the OG Balance3. Here's a video of my riding today.

AWESOME mudn8r!!!! Thanks for posting the video, I love these progression vids so keep on making them as time continues on. It took me a little while to get use to my Balance as well but in about 4 weeks time it really started feeling natural. Sometimes I find it a bit crammed when doing decades or riding out of tricks with my foot on the top tube. I wish it wasn't so cold out and the snow all over the road doesn't help either, can't wait for spring. Keep it up!! BTW where are you located?

Thanks! I have to say, your video you posted back a while really inspired me. The balance3 is about 10 pounds lighter than the GT I was riding before. The weeks I was forced to take off because of the weather helped me unlearn the feel of my old bike. I'm down in Richmond, Virginia. I think I saw that you are in the Boston area. My inlaws live in CT and I bring my kids up there every summer. We should hook up and go riding when I do!

Nice vid mudn8r, you look to be at a similar level to me. The one time I rode my new Opsis I found frontyards very difficult with the smaller and lower bars. BTW, Happy New Year everyone, just under 5 hours to go over here. Keith

There's a big group of guys who ride at a outdoor skating rink in Cambridge Ma. I've watched a few videos of these guys and they are real good, ages range from early 20's to 40's!! Skill level is all over the place too with some just starting out while others are at the Pro level. I've yet to go down there being I just started up a short while ago but I intend to go plenty next summer.....can't wait! Check em out by clicking on this link. Flatland Bmx Session in Boston USA

I found that the light weight of the back end made front yards really weird at first, it almost feels like I'm leaning back instead of forwards when I'm doing them. I find each day I get more comfortable with the geometry though. I'd love to see some vids of what your doing! Yesterday I added boomerankles to my list of tricks I can pull. This week I want to get pedal to pedal boomerangs and firehydrants wired. (firehydrants are another trick that feels weird with the short rear end - I keep pulling back on the bars like I'm on my heavy a** GT and have to bail!)

Yea firehydrants are different for me too, feels like you don't have to pull back on the bars as much. With the frontyards, I was always used to resting my left leg comfortably against the bars with my knee on the inner side of the bars themselves which made frontyards virtually effortless and no-handers very easy but with these bars being a different shape I can't do that. I'll have to try and upload some of my videos somehow one day. Keith
